Accessibility Policy

SafeDC represents the multi-agency D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force, with this website operated by the National Design Studio. We work to make safedc.gov accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, using Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility targets.

Our accessibility approach

Our accessibility approach focuses on:

  • Keyboard access and visible focus indicators
  • Logical headings, landmarks, and link text
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Color contrast and content that does not rely on color alone
  • Responsive layouts that support zoom and different screen sizes

Report an accessibility issue

If you have difficulty using safedc.gov, tell us what caused the problem. We will fix it as soon as we can.
