Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

The Washington D.C. Task Force website at safedc.gov is operated by the National Design Studio as a public information resource about the federal law enforcement surge in the District of Columbia and federal hiring opportunities in support of that mission. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

safedc.gov is an informational website. It has no application database, user-submission endpoint, account, email sender, or CAPTCHA. The "Apply Now" action links directly to USAJOBS.

Request and Server Logs

When you visit safedc.gov, Cloudflare processes request and network metadata to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare Workers observability records operational information about Worker requests and errors.

  • Cloudflare uses request metadata to route traffic and provide security.
  • Worker observability helps diagnose errors and monitor site operation.

Operational Data

Cloudflare may process additional operational information when a request fails or an enabled edge feature responds to it. The application does not apply a rate limit.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

safedc.gov is a public information site. It does not host any application forms, accounts, or feedback flows. Specifically, we do not collect, store, or process:

  • Your name, address, phone number, or email address
  • Social Security numbers, government IDs, or background-check information
  • Employment history, security clearance, or military service records
  • Job applications, resumes, or questionnaire answers
  • Payment information of any kind
  • Health or biometric information

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Server logs and request signals: To serve pages, protect the site, and diagnose technical issues.
  • Error logs: To detect, diagnose, and fix outages or errors.
  • Approximate geographic data: Cloudflare may derive it from network information to route traffic and provide security.

We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information. We do not use the data we collect to build advertising profiles or to target individuals.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

safedc.gov does not set tracking cookies of its own. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.

  • Application storage: The application does not write cookies, local storage, or session storage.
  • Cloudflare cookies: Cloudflare may set operational cookies when enabled edge features require them.

You can clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser's settings.

5. Third-Party Services

safedc.gov uses a small number of third-party services to host the site and serve media. Each service is bound by its own privacy policy.

Cloudflare

Hosts and delivers the site, processes request and network metadata, and provides Workers observability.

Cloudflare Stream

Delivers the background and recruitment videos embedded on the site. Cloudflare Stream may collect playback diagnostics and standard request logs.

First-party assets

Fonts, the Unicorn Studio script, and its shader data load from safedc.gov rather than a visitor-facing third-party asset host.

USAJOBS.gov

When you select "View jobs on USAJOBS.gov," you are taken to the official federal jobs site operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Any information you submit there is governed by the USAJOBS privacy policy, not this one.

External links may take you to USAJOBS, WhiteHouse.gov, X, or ndstudio.gov. Those sites apply their own privacy practices. For more detail, review the provider policies below:

6. Data Security

We rely on Cloudflare's globally distributed infrastructure and apply standard safeguards to protect the limited information we collect, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for traffic to and from safedc.gov
  • No application database, submission endpoint, account, or email sender
  • No application-authored cookies, local storage, or session storage

7. Your Rights & Choices

Because safedc.gov collects very little information, your choices are simple:

  • Browse without submitting a form: You can read every page on this site without an account or application form.
  • Apply separately: The Apply Now link takes you directly to USAJOBS, where separate privacy terms apply.
  • Block scripts and cookies: You can use browser settings or extensions to block third-party scripts or cookies; the site will continue to work, though some visuals may be reduced.
  • Use a VPN: If you do not want Cloudflare to derive an approximate location from your IP address, you can route your traffic through a VPN.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
